About
Laura
is a teacher specialised in business English, job interview preparation and
preparation for official exams, with over four years’ experience in these
fields. When not motivating her students to pass these aforementioned exams she
is preparing for them herself. She holds
a TEFL Qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and has over ten years’
experience in education. Starting off by giving classes in secondary schools in
Britain, she found she had a natural talent for teaching, later on she used
this talent to continue her professional career as an English teacher in
France.
Her primary motivation in her work is to see progression; if the classes are dynamic and interesting, the learning process will be faster. Furthermore she loves learning from her pupils, considering that tailored lessons require research into the professions and activities of the clients, it is the student that makes every lesson different.
Before settling down in Barcelona Laura spent four years in the south of France soaking up the culture and language, where she passed the DELF upper-intermediate exam. She loves a challenge; her current one is going from level zero Spanish to upper intermediate within two years. Once that is ticked off the list, the next goal is to do the same with Catalan and German.
As you can tell from her name, her father is German but she assures us she is very British. English northerners are known for being extremely friendly and Laura is no exception. This mix of cultures in her family explains the passion for learning new languages and travelling.
